With a 'cluck cluck here and a cluck cluck there'...

This month has seen the rise of the chicken for viral content for two brand giants. Both LG and Mercedes-Benz have called upon the farm-yard animal to star in their latest online communication hits.  

A weird coincidence I know but both companies focus on the chicken's ability to keep it's head stable whilst the rest of its body moves. The 'head motion' control has been appropriated by the respective brands to promote the features of their new products and to humorous effect I might add.

The Mercedes-Benz video , which is also a TV advertisement, entitled originally 'chicken' was released at the end of September and communicates the 'Magic Body Control' of their latest vehicle. Featuring the beautiful sounds of Diana Ross 'Upside Down' hit the advertisement, uses the chicken's 'head stability' to good effect, in what appears to be a novel and unique way of showcasing their new product feature. LG's effort was released this week, telling the hopefully fictitious story of a camera man who whilst searching  for new ways to improve his photography, stumbles upon a new way to find that perfect stable shot, none other than the chicken. Once again the chicken's ability to keep it's head perfectly still whilst the rest of it's body it moving provides the way for the camera man to better his craft. With a camera attached to the head of his beloved pet Lizzie, the viral depicts the chicken in various fast-paced situations from skydiving to race car driving. Again this is another jovial way of representing the brand's new 'Optical Image Stablisation' feature for the LG G2 phone. Have a watch to brighten your morning:

 

Both these video has gone to the top of the viral charts this month as it appears that the chicken is 'top dog'.
